Louis 29, 1978 Protesters Seized At Courthouse By James E. Ellis Nine persons protesting against conditions at the federal prison at Marion, were arrested Monday after they staged a sit-in at the Federal Courthouse in St. Louis. The protesters were carried from the building on stretchers, St. Louis police said.

Arrested were Jerri Louise Blackmon, 25, of Iowa City, Iowa; William R. Douglas, 27, of lowa City, Iowa; Joseph W. Grant, of Riverside, Iowa; Steven C. Marsden, 31, of Des Moines, lowa; James W. Dubert, of Ames, Iowa: Clark G.

Field, 42, of Evansville, John F. Walsh, 25, of Des Moines; and Scott W. Myers, 45, and Timothy J. Dunn, 25, both of the 4500 block of Oakland Avenue in St. Louis.

All were charged with peace disturbance, trespassing and resisting arrest. They are members of the National Committee to Support the Marion Brothers, a prison reform group, police said. Shortly before noon Monday, about 20 demonstrators picketed in front of the courthouse at 1114 Market Street. They distributed leaflets criticizing a solitary confinement unit at the Marion prison.
