"TTTTTTr 3 AUG 11995 TUESDAY, AUGUST 1, 1995 4b ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH -u. V-K -y-i -cr. ttt. Special District's Borsa Lands SIUE Teaching Post 1-Car Crash On 1-55 Near Ste.

Genevieve Kills Indiana Woman Missouri Highway Patrol said the car, driven by Jacqueline Powell of St. Louis, had ran off the right side of the road and overturned. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Most of the injuries were minor, but Powell was ejected from the car and had moderate injuries, the patrol said. Officials at Ste.

Genevieve Hospital would not disclose her condition. STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. (AP) A woman from Indiana was killed early Monday when the car in which she was riding overturned near Ste. Genevieve.

The woman was identified as Jeanette Harris, 60, of Indianapolis. The driver and six other passengers were injured in the wreck. The accident happened at 4 a.m. on Interstate 55. The His Demotion Prompted Suit Against District FUNERAL NOTICE John Borsa will go to work Aug.

22 teaching graduate students education Jaw and school administration at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Borsa, a former Parkway administrator, had been hired as superintendent of the Special School District of St. Louis County starting July 1. But he never went to work. Instead, the district rehired Ronald W.

Rebore as interim superintendent. Rebore had left in August 1994 citing "philosophical differences," with the district's board. A new board majority, elected April 4, brought Rebore back at $112,000 a year, a 20 percent increase. The board also demoted Borsa to assistant superintendent for special education. Borsa rejected that offer and then sued the district for $330,000, alleg ing breach of contract.

Now, the special district is hiring an administrator to replace Borsa as the assistant superintendent. In July, the district placed a newspaper advertisement offering applicants a one-year contract for that post. Borsa had a three-year contract to be superintendent. In a case pending in St. Louis County Circuit Court, Raymond Gruender, Borsa's attorney, argues that his client has an enforceable employment contract.

Laurence Mass, attorney for the special district, argues that the assistant superintendent's job represents simply a change of duties. At the same time, a federal court is taking steps to spin vocational education away from the special district, but not before the 1996-97 school year. Sam R.
