1 July 19, 1974 ST. LOUIS POST- DISPATCH Scientists Find Last Piece Of Ancient 'Supercontinent' NEW YORK, July 18, (AP) British and American scientists, drilling into the past in the floor of the South Atlantic ocean said yesterday that they had found the last piece of a great continental jigsaw puzzle. They consider it the final evidence that South America and Africa were once part of the vast supercontinent Gondwanaland, along with Australia, New Zealand and Antarctica. The scientists found a fingershaped extension of the Falkland Plateau, under 2 miles of water and sediment, reaching 750 miles eastward from the Falkland Islands to a point 1600 miles from the South American mainland. "Some 150,000,000 years ago, the scientists determined, it was cupped snugly along what is now the southeastern coast of South Africa," an announcement said.

Rocks dug up from the sunken I continent are believed to be more than 60,000,000 years old, the oldest ever brought up from an ocean. "It completes the puzzle," said Prof. Ian W. D. Dalziel of Columbia University.

"All the other points along the Atlantic contours of the two continents had been proven by various scientific means to have been joined long ago." Dalziel and Prof. Peter Barker of England's University of Birmingham were directors of the thirty-sixth leg of the Deep LOW RATES For WANT ADS per line per insertion 2-14 Daily Sunday Times $1.03 Times Times 15-55 Lines Times Times Times $1.02 56 Lines or Mora $1.01 $1.27 Times .98 1.24 7-10 Times .93 1.19 41-14 Times for the cost of 10 times. The point is going on this one person now. EHRLICHMAN: OK. PRESIDENT: And then I'll decide whether we have to go beyond it. EHRLICHMAN: Right. KROGH: What I'd like to do is EHRLICHMAN: That's fine.

KROGH: I'll do a report on this guy and those immediately around him. PRESIDENT: That's right. KROGH: Once we get that, then come back. PRESIDENT: That's right. KROGH: AndPRESIDENT: Come back and see what else we have to do.

PRESIDENT: Well, I just think we ought to go out ahead and it, it does happen.

This does affect the National Security--this particular one. This isn't like the Pentagon Papers. This one involves a current negotiation and it should not have been, and it, its getting out jeopardizes the negotiating position. Now, God damn it, we're not going to allow it. We just aren't going to allow it.
