15 (UPI) THE FIRST NEW TELEVISION SHOW LAST NIGHT was a tender little item from NBC-TV called "My Mother, the Car." It was a half-hour situation comedy apparently inspired by the notion that there is nothing Americans love more than their in at order-This entry concerns a deceased lady who I I Vet -kA VWLNS. Morgan: alry soldiers in the old West. The ringleader is Forrest Tucker, who has said he thinks this show will be a hit and if imitations of previously successful formats are any help he could be right. This is simply a kindergarten Western version of Mcllale's Navy," which itn turn should pay daily homage to "Sgt. Bilko," which gives you an idea of television today. The commercial problem of Troop" is that it competes with Red Skelton and the Tuesday night movies, but on the other hand it is preceded on ABC-TV by "McHale's Navy" and followed by "Peyton Place." LAST NIGHT'S THIRD NEW SERIES is also a half-hour fituation comedy, NBC-TV's "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," and, alas, it has little of the witty attraction of the Jean Kerr book from which it borrowed its title, and unfortunately little else.

It is a placid, old-fashioned, routine domestic comedy set up in the suburbs, complete with husband (a teacher), wife (a newspaper columnist), children and dog. In the debut, there was a mild to-do because the wife wrote a piece about her marriage and the husband was upset so she wrote another article, a nice one, that pacified him. What the series really needs, though, isn't more pacifiers, but a Jean Kerr to write all the scripts. THERE WAS ALSO SOMETHING MISSING LAST NIGHT in CBS-TV's returning "Rawhide" series the manly, mature authority of Eric Fleming which gave firmness and backbone to the show, and which is all too obvious now that he has been dropped from it permanently. His former television sidekick, Clint Eastwood, has replaced him as trail bcss, and he is good, as always, but he simply doesn't project the same command.

New regulars bowing in with last night's episode which concerned a showdown with a righteous-acting, crooked sheriff-included a Bnton and a Negro. They will have a hard time making up for Fleming's absence. But John Ireland joins the cast soon, and that may help. te, Nana Mouskouri (Season Premiere (c) 2 "AMOS BURKE SECRET AGENT" STARS GENE BARRY 11 The Untouch ables: "Gang War" 9 The Quiet Takeover: Program explores the use of psychological testing and computer techniques 10:00 5 News, Sports, Weather 4 News, Sports, Weather 2 News, Weather, Sports 11 Cannonball 10: 15 Tonight Show: Guests, John Bubbles, Jan Peerce (c) 4 Eye-Line 4 Movie: Anthony Quinn, 10:25 10:30 Gina lxllobricida in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1957) 2 Nightlife: Les Crane, host 11 Movie: Paul Muni, Cedric Hardwicke in "Commandos Strike at Dawn" (1943) 12:00 5 Merv Griffin Show: Guests, Dick Gregory, Kitty Carlisle, Ethel Griffies, Robert Et-tinger, Diane Warwick 2 News, Sports 2 Credo 12:05 12:15 11 News 12:30 4 Movie: Lucille Ball, John Agar in "The Magic Carpet" (1951) 5 Weather 4 Late News Roundup 1:30 2:10 THURSDAY A.M. 15 4 Devotion, News 5:30 4 Summer Semester 6:00 4 Town and Country 6:30 4 P.S.

The son is portrayed by Jerry Van Dyke, brother of Dick. In the story she speaks only to her son so that his wife and children for some reason don't believe him, not having had the enlightened schooling and imagination of, say, network executives.
