All this latter portion of the vessel Is submerged many feet in excess of the after part and probably will not be repealed until the dam is completely emptied and a great quantity of mud The present intention of the board is to permit the water to remain at the 10-f "ot level, possibly for several days, to make observations and tests of the cofferdam to determine beyond question Its ability to resist the tremendous inward pressure when completely emp-rtied. 1 Will Sever Shattered Part.

Col. Tatrick said the board believed i quite feasible to separate the after two-thirds of the ship from the forward third, severing the part3 shattered by the explosion by the use of an acetylene blast. On the completion of the separation It is Intended to dissect the forward section by acetylene blasts into portable fragments, which will be taken out piecemeal. After that, in default of further orders -from Congress, it is the intention to build a bulkhead across the rear section, Xtoat It out from the dam, bring it alongside a wharf in the harbor, make a jComplete- examination and finally tow it to sea and sink It. Andrew Carnegie's favorite niece, Mrs. Nancy Carnegie Hever, who recently became reconciled to her husband. James Hever, after separation of two years, was found at the cosy cottage on Long Island to which the reunited family disappeared after giving up the apartment at 2610 Broadway which Hever has occupied during his wife's absence. "While Mrs. Hever and members of the family freely admitted that she had come back with the intention of nursing her Invalid husband back to health, the circumstances surrounding the separation, the reason for her long absence and the events leading up to the reconciliation were carefully guarded secrets.

The four children, whom their mother brought with her from Pittsburg, where she has been living with her mother, Mrs. Lucy Coleman Carnegie, were playing about the lawn and showed by. their faces that the change in the family plans is a most agreeable one to them. Live In Pretty Cottage. The Hever cottage is a beautiful English villa in the fashionable Bays-water section of Far Rockaway.

It Is situated in the center of an acre plot and the house Is completely concealed from-ihe street by the shrubbery of an English park. Mr. Hever is confined to his bed, being paralyzed from the waist down, the effect of a fall from horseback while trying out a new hunter at the Sheepshead Bay track in 1909. Mrs. Hever answered the inquirer.

"There really, is nothing to be said that has not already been printed about us," she said. "We are all together again and that is the whole story. There never was a legal separation, nor any thought of one. Family reasons made it necessary for me to reside in Pittsburg while Mr. Hever's condition made It necessary for him toemaln in New York.

We have been in constant correspondence i When asked what family reasons she referred to Mrs. Hever declined firmly to sj.y. "You may merely say that Mr. Hever Is Improving wonderfully since he came out here, and that we are hopeful of his complete recovery." lonn Hever Talks. William Hever, son of Mr.

Hever by a former marriage, was inclined to be a little more communicative after his stepmother's departure on the plea of looking after the welfare of her husband. "We hoped this reunion would pass without notice from the newspapers," he said, "but we realize that publicity Is the penalty of the Carnegie name. We hope the penalty in this instance will be light. There never was anything the least out of the way in the separation, but we are all naturally happy that it in ended." At this juncture the young man was called into the house. Loud voices werj; heard and the outlet of information was suddenly clinked off.

Janirs Hever eloped with Miss Nancy Carnegie In 1304 while he was employed by her mother as a riding instructor. When Andrew Carnegie made the announcement of the secret marriage he coupled It with the remark that it was much better than having a worthless duke in the family. This remark was taken as a personal affront by the Duke of Manchester, who was visiting in New-York when it was made. Mr. Carnegie hastened to enter a denial that be had the Puke in mind.

it ot Wealthv. Airs. Hever is not wealthy in her own right. Her father, Thomas Carnegie, who was a brother of Andrew, left a estate, but by the terms of the will it went Intact to the widow. The announcement of the wedding came a year after the ceremony had been performed and followed their return from a honeymoon trip to Europe.

During the separation Mr. Hever has been living In a sumptuously furnished Broadway apartment with his three children by the first marriage.
