1 8 ST.LOUIS POST-DISPATCH WEDNESDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 27, 1918. ST LOUIS POST-DISPATCH LOST AND FOUND DANCING SITUATIONS WOMEN. GIRLS DEATHS DEATHS First Aid in Influenza Prevention JUDGE H06AN REFUSES TO FINE WOMAN WHO POSED AS A MAN Certainly It Is Xot Unbecomlnjr," lie Says, When Ucrtlm Sclimidt Appoiirs in Mail's Clothins. Judge JIoRan inpoI'ce court today refused to fine Bertha Schmidt, 23 years old, 3624 Keokuk street, who has admitted that she has masqueraded as a man, under an ordinance forbidding a woman to appear in public in costume unbecoming to her sex. The Judge gave scrutiny to JlifS Schmidt's clothing with apparent admiration.

After she had doffed her man's overcoat, he said: "Certainly it is not unbecoming." Miss Schmidt appeared in court at-ired in a man's blue serge suit with tan shoes, green necktie, corded silk collar and a gray overcoat with a belt. Her hair apparently had been freshly cut 'feather edge'' and closely cropped about the ears. She explained as her reason for wearing men's clothes that they were fheaper. "It costs as much as $100 for a woman to outfit herself." said she. "I have worked for as low as $4.50 a week and men's clothes are cheaper.

I now am making $80 a month in a man's job, and the reason is I am appearing as a man and working as a man." At the first sign of a cold see that the bowels are open. Colds cannot gain a start if the system is free from food-waste. When the bowels are inactive and food-waste lies in the system it ferments, creating dangerous poisons which are absorbed into the blood. Then the kidneys, lungs and skin pores are not equal to the task of getting this poison out of the system and disease gets a quick start. Colds Precede Influenza The colds that follow blood sluggishness, due to the poisons created by constipation, leave the body an easy prey to influenza and after that PNEUMONIA! Ask aaiy doctor what precaution you should take against colds, influenza and pneumonia and he will tell you to take a thoro laxative.

But pills, tablets and vegetable compounds are only partly effective. Your druggist has a product called SALINOS that is a thoro laxative which will completely empty the entire digestive tract, including the lower bowels, where most poisons are formed. SALINOS is really pleasant to take, pleasant in taste and pleasant in action. You can get a bottle of SALINOS for a quarter (larger sizes, Fifty cents and a Dollar). Be Safe! Get It Today! Use It Tomorrow Morning.
