December 27Vc. The short-covering operations which strengthened wheat futures yesterday were not in evidence today and milling demand lighter because of the advance in prices. Most traders were inclined to take a sideline course and withhold operations while awaiting developments over the week-end. Fair commission house buying imparted some firmness early, but profit taking sales appeared on the upturn. Corn encountered a light Interest with the trade largely confined to locals.

There was moderate demand for the December contract which was sold against purchases of May later in the session. Oats and rye were little changed in dull and featureless markets.
